a black hole tearing a star apart∞. Love will NOT keep us together, when a sneaky black hole is involved. It's kinda like a big drain.

TedBrunt : I remember when my friend had to phone William Gibson. The X Files were using Gibson to write a few episodes, and she was in charge of reviewing scripts before they got to Chris Carter. Gibson had to be corrected on his use of "upload" & "download" - he said he often got them confused. As amazing a writer as he is, the guy is not a plugged in geek. Which makes sense. But in
this article∞ for the Philadelphia Enquirer, he mentions one of the epiphanies he had:
"I remember [in the early '80s] seeing posters for the small, semi-portable version of the
Apple IIc∞," he says. "Quite a lot of what I subsequently imagined in my early science fiction simply came from seeing that ad in a bus stop. I didn't know anything about it technologically. I just thought if it's that small and that nicely styled, everything is changing."
I remember when I got my first computer - it was an
Apple IIc∞, and the thing I remember most about it was the superb documentation and packaging. I know, dumb stuff for a computer when you want speed and apps, but it was the same kind of moment for me - I knew that this approach was going to change everything about computers. I knew that if someone was going to make the things approachable by the average person, all hell was gonna break loose.

MoviesMyKidsShouldSee. I was thinking that there are like a hundred movies that you just know if you do or will have kids, that they should see. Feel free to add to them. But man, I hope I don't turn out like one of those people who are like "Movies today are crap. They don't make films like
Road to Zanzibar∞. That Bob Hope could act."

TedBrunt : Today, I witnessed my first "air-kiss" while at the CBC. It was in fact a version I had not seen; a double one-side, double-the-other, extremely rare "quad" air kiss. In an elevator, no less. I burst out laughing, and managed to make it to my floor before they noticed. There are many reasons I no longer officially work in television. I do believe that this qualifies as one reason.

StrongTed : Where the hell are you guys? I guess you have lives. I am alone. ALL ALONE IN THE WEB. Mental note. Cory was at O'Reilly Emerging Tech, and took wicked notes from the Disney: RSS preso.
here's the link∞. I've been thinking of looking into this deeper, as it makes sense from the hi-band perspective. I need to learn more about RSS. Interestingly, Disney uses Wiki for institutional knowledge in some cases. Never thought the mouse capable. Trevor, we should ramp up a Wiki @ cbc instead of that infernal Groupwise. I know that the forum software,
WebX, has included this. Of course, must do whatever possible to avoid IT. Some things never change no matter where you work.
