Play TVOKids Soccer. Angela did a great job on this.

Quark Express Easter egg
Quark 3 and 4: The Little Martian guy. Pressing the Command, Option, Shift and K keys all at the same time with an object selected causes a little Martian to walk across your screen and zap (delete) the selected object. Complete with sound effects.

Quark 4: New with 4, press the key combo 5 times and see the monster take care of the martian too! Make sure you have 5 items to zap.

A friend of mine growing up had an Atari 2600, the king of gaming consoles. I had the Oddysey 2 which had some pretty good games like KC Munchkin but it was no Atari so it was a treat to go over to his place and play River Raid. There was one rule if we were going to play the Atari...
NEVER EVER PULL A CARTRIDGE OUT IF THE ATARI IS ON!
Inevitably you'd get too excited to play Pitfall and you'd forget THE RULE. You'd pull out the cartridge and the screen would be filled with bars of color and you had this feeling like "Uh Oh, We broke it". I've often wondered if THE RULE was just a myth. Anyway, it looked something like the following.

Party on June 12th at 23 Queen Victoria Street

When was the last time you enjoyed a beer served in a plastic cup?
For our housewarming party, we are going Old School. We'll be pumping up a keg of Steam Whistle beer to welcome our friends to our new home.

Where?
23 Queen Victoria Street. See attatched.

When?
June 12th. Officially the party won't begin until 8 or 9 ish, but I realize people's schedules are filling up fast, so if you're busy that evening please feel free to drop by anytime after 4pm.

Housewarming Party
Hi there. We will be having a housewarming party at our place on June the 12th. Sorry Joanne, I realize that's the same night as your party...unfortunately we started inviting people last week, otherwise we would have changed the date. Anyway, we are a short bus ride from Joanne's place.

Joanne: No problem, Greg. It turns out that I have to put off having a party (I wanted to have it at the same time that a friend of mine was visiting from Australia. But, it looks like the visit is changing to August now). Will have to keep y'all posted.

Here's the invite Meredith sent around...more details to follow.

Greg and I have finally finished tiling our basement floor and we both feel that the 300 sq.ft. of empty space is just screaming Keg Party! So, mark June 12th in your date book right away. Officially the party won't begin until 8 or 9 ish, but I realize that the summer season is just around the corner and people's schedules are filling up fast, so if you're busy that evening please feel free to drop by anytime after 4pm to admire our workmanship and have a beer on us.

This is a cool site. They have thousands of vector logos available for download. You can use them or abuse them to your hearts content. I noticed they have a Flyers logo.

If you like Toots and the Maytals, his new album is really good. He plays with a wide range of people (Willie Nelson, Bootsy Collins, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, No Doubt).

Repressed memories of a "Wookie Christmas"? Here are a couple of links...people say this is the worst television ever produced. I have vague memories of this which slowly began to resurface as I read the Slashdot article...anyone else see this? Bea Arthur sings. Carrie Fisher is high. Wookies watch wookie porn. Merry christmas.

BOLAN BOOGIE

I was in Vortex Records the other day and T-Rex's Bolan's Boogie was playing in the store. When I asked the guy in the store what it was, I winced when he told me "T-REX" (Visions of 80's Glam rock flashed through my head) but I couldn't deny the fact that I really liked the music.

As it turns out, T-REX is 70's glam rock which is infinitely cooler than 80's Glam Rock. Anyway, I must say, this is a fantastic album. Take some Donovan, add a little Bowie, Canned Heat and season with a dose of Led Zeppelin and you have TREX. Don't be scared by the references to Unicorns and Vampires...this is 1970's ego rock at it's best.

Great CD for rocking out at the cottage. Two thumbs up.

I don't know how to do any thing but BOLD text

I thought about copying some text out of Ted's blog and pasting it here. Um. Let's see. My goldfish died last night. Uh, I could post a few links to websites about goldfish diseases. No. Hey go see Triplets of Belleville. There's some nice retro illustrations here...

JEREMY GAVE ME REALLY STRONG TEA

...and now I can't sleep. Stop at one cup if it is late in the evening. There's no caffeine but the licorice really packs a punch. Anyhoo, that South Park episode was awesome...can someone find that? If you didn't see it, Canada is this Wizard of Oz type of place with only one road. Even though the kids went in the winter time, Canada was all sunny and people bounced out of bushes. It could have been a 2 hour long movie really.

MORE GREAT ALBUMS
Brothers Cosmoline
Don't be scared of country music. Niel Young was country. Anyway. this is a fantastic album if you like a tad of meloncholy (not too meloncholy that it is depressing but just enough)

Olu Dara- New york to Natchez

WOW! This came out the same time as Mermaid Ave and I listened to them both equally...that was a great time. 2 Awesome albums.
